Run over and left untreated. Axel's previous owners failed to seek medical attention for him when a neighbor backed over him with their SUV. Axel's broken back healed, but because he had no physical therapy, Axel's back legs "froze" in an extended position. At Save the Strays, he learned to walk - and even run - again.
