Are you a ‘get up and go’ person? Then RUSTY may be just the dog for you and your kids.This energetic 4-year-old husky loves to play fetch, go for walks (hikes or runs would be good, as well) and enjoys spending time outdoors. He loves people, is great with kids and gets along with other dogs (but chases cats). We recommend a fenced yard so that Rusty can burn off energy off-leash, but the fence must be at least 5 feet tall because he can jump a 4-foot fence. He is definitely NOT an apartment dog. Rusty is leash trained, crate trained, house trained and rides well in a car. He is neutered, up to date on vaccinations and in good health, but he tested positive for heartworms. We have begun treatment using the “slow kill” method. We will explain this method to his adopters, if they wish to continue that protocol. Or they can have their vet treat him with immiticide.
