ALL EARS! Poppy is a 10-month-old rat terrier, a breed whose ears make you think she's part rabbit! This personable pup is smart (learns quickly), playful, loving and good with other dogs, cats and kids. She currently weighs 17 lbs. and will probably be about 20 to 22 lbs. at maturity.

Poppy would be a great choice for any home, whether with an individual, couple or family with children. She does love attention, and she’s still a pup, so we’re looking for a home where she won’t be alone all day. Someone who works part-time or from home, or whose spouse works different hours, would be ideal. Another dog would also be good to keep her busy when you need to turn your attention elsewhere, but it must be a dog that likes to play and can match her energy. A fenced yard is preferred, to let her run and play.

Poppy is healthy, up to date on vaccinations and spayed. She is house trained, can be crated (recommended if you’re not home), walks well on leash and likes riding in the car. She’s athletic and energetic, so she could readily be trained for agility work – or simply be a great hiking companion (on leash, of course!).

Poppy’s adoption fee is $300. Email info@savethestrays.org for our application.
