SWEET, QUIET LITTLE CHI. Although she is on the quiet side, 3-year-old Lolly is friendly and affectionate. Pick her up and she'll give you kisses, then roll over for a belly rub. Although she gets along well and plays with other dogs, human attention and affection are what she loves most. We think she would be perfect for an older adopter or one with a quiet home and lifestyle.

Lolly came out of a puppy mill so, unfortunately, she tested positive for heartworms. The American Heartworm Association recommends that all heartworm-positive dogs receive three immiticide injections over the course of 4 to 6 weeks (the 'fast kill' method). However, some vets feel that owners of asymptomatic dogs can use the so-called 'slow kill' alternative if the cost of immiticide treatment is beyond their financial means. We will be happy to provide more information on this topic.

Other than her heartworm status, an inguinal hernia and a slight heart murmur (no medication required), Lolly's health is good. In addition to a thorough physical exam, she had a complete blood screen with normal results. She also tested negative for tick-borne diseases like Lyme. If you're looking for a quiet, undemanding little dog that likes to be held and petted, Lolly may be the perfect pet for you.

Although we have spent over $600 on Lolly’s exams, vaccines, bloodwork and spay, her adoption fee is just $175 because we would like to make it easier for an adopter to get her treated for heartworms. For more information or an application, please email us at savethestraysrescue@gmail.com.
