LAP DOG TO THE MAX. Girlie brings new meaning to the term “lap dog.” This two-year-old Chihuahua will cuddle and sleep on your lap for hours. There’s just no other place she would rather be! If you get up, she will follow you from room to room. Although she gets along well and plays with other dogs, human attention and affection are what she loves most.

Girlie came out of a puppy mill so, unfortunately, she tested positive for heartworms. The American Heartworm Association recommends that all heartworm-positive dogs receive three immiticide injections over the course of 4 to 6 weeks (the "fast kill" method). However, many vets - including ours - feel that owners of asymptomatic dogs like Girlie can use the so-called "slow kill" heartworm protocol if the cost of immiticide treatment is beyond their financial means. We will be happy to provide more information on this topic.

Other than her heartworm status, Girlie’s health is good.
