This 7-year-old Australian cattle dog is the perfect choice for someone who wants a calm, quiet, well-behaved companion. She personifies Edith Wharton’s quote, “My little dog, a heartbeat at my feet.” Cupcake isn’t demanding, rarely barks and is polite to humans and other dogs alike. As a stray that came out of a shelter, she was a little shy, but she now basks in any attention she gets and gives kisses in return. Cupcake tested positive for heartworms when she came into the rescue six months ago, but has been treated using the “slow kill” method.
